Cibus Enterprise Fund II, advised by Cibus Capital LLP, the specialist investment advisory firm focused on sustainable food and agriculture, has invested in a USD 20 million Series A-2 financing for Corvus Robotics, the autonomous drone platform for warehouse inventory management.
Warehouse inventory verification remains labour-intensive with e-commerce driving higher SKU counts across supply chains. It is also hazardous, particularly when done using scissor lifts or in cold chain environments. Manual cycle counts create blind spots; labour is becoming scarcer and more expensive. Poor inventory accuracy drives billions in annual losses through stockouts, mispicks, excess safety stock and spoilage. Corvus’ autonomous drones provide real-time inventory visibility without requiring infrastructure installation, dramatically improving accuracy and reducing both labour demand and spoilage.
Today, more than 300 Corvus devices are deployed across the US, Canada and Mexico, analysing over a million inventory locations a month for customers including Kroger, GNC and Dermalogica. Corvus deploys into conventional warehouses in under a week, with no beacons, markers or changes to the building. It is also the only autonomous inventory solution proven in cold chain environments.
Mohammed Kabir has taken over as CEO from Co-Founder Jackie Wu, who is stepping back for health reasons but remains on the Board of Directors. Kabir, who built Corvus’ first drone in his MIT dorm room, has led technology and product since founding.
Archie Burgess, Investment Director at Cibus Capital, said: “We are very excited to partner with Corvus Robotics, the latest physical AI business to join the Cibus portfolio. Up to 10% of all food produced is wasted inside distribution centres, where inventory is still counted by hand a few times a year. Corvus’ drones, unique in their ability to operate in cold chain environments, down to -29°C, are particularly well-suited for food and beverage customers, which represent more than half of Corvus’ customer base today. We look forward to supporting Kabir and the team as they scale.”
The Series A-2 was led by Catalyst Investors, with participation from S2G Investments, Spero Ventures, F7 Ventures and Cibus.
The new capital will fund expansion of Corvus’ sales and engineering teams, enabling the company to reach more food and beverage distribution centres, retailers and cold storage operators across North America and internationally.
Mohammed Kabir, CEO of Corvus Robotics, said: “Corvus Robotics was founded on the conviction that the physical world generates enormous amounts of data and almost none of it gets captured or acted on. Our fleet currently analyses over a million locations every month, giving our customers an unprecedented view into what actually happens inside their facilities. Stepping into this role is a privilege, and I am glad Jackie is staying on our board.”
